Sam Plunkett has learned that year after year Shiraz is a variety that excels in the Strathbogie Ranges. It is also a variety that has captured his heart. As the most decorated and best known wine from the Strathbogie Ranges, we believe it has earned the right at Plunkett Fowles to be known as The Rule. The Rule 2006 is rich and dense with complex aromas of liquorice and ripe red fruits, chocolate and some spicy pepper notes.

The Exception wines are one-off projects driven by our interest in experimentation. Every so often, if we are lucky, the results are truly remarkable and the wine earns the right to be regarded as The Exception. The Exception 2008 has emerged with lovely golden colour and aromas of apricots and fig. It is luscious and sweet with great length of flavour. This wine will live for decades.
